Hello! My name is Michelle Crider.

A passion for art since childhood finally evolved into 2 years of art classes in college after 10 years of bookkeeping and babies. However, at age 40 I earned a bachelor’s degree in literary arts so I could teach. Family and friends, The Firehouse Gallery in Edom, and the Firehouse Gallery in Weatherford have all encouraged me to get started again on a new creative journey in 2012 during early retirement.

Mediums vary with everchanging subjects in order to keep a fresh perspective while I experiment on the next idea. To capture that feeling of peace and rhythm as a visual representation is what I strive for. This collaboration with nature, selecting special pieces of wood which give off spiritual energy, connects me to my sense of self-expression. I belong to Weatherford Art Assn., Texas Sculpture Assn., and National Sculpture Society.

Works over the last 10 years started with Edom Art Festival, then to Weatherford with Chandor Gardens Art Walks, the Art Assn. shows at The Fireside Gallery, The Doss Center, FW Community Arts Center and the FW UNT Atrium, and then spread out to JM Gallery in Downtown Dallas, Cleburne's JN Long Arts Center,  Grapevine's Chamber of Commerce and Theatre,  Graham's OPOMAC,  Granbury's Shanley House,  Mesquite's Community Arts Center, and Rowlett's First United Methodist Church.  I finally landed physical studio co-op space at the Aledo Collective which opened in Feb 2020 only to be shut down a month later due to Covid lockdown mandate. I currently use virtual space in The Eyes of Texas Fine Art Gallery at www.theeyesoftexasfineart.com., Squarespace, facebook and CVP art academy.
